- February 6–22 – The 2026 Winter Olympics are scheduled to be held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
- February–March – The 2026 ICC Men's T20 World Cup is scheduled to be held in India and Sri Lanka.
- March 6–15 – The 2026 Winter Paralympics are scheduled to be held in Milan and Cortina d'Ampezzo, Italy.
- June 11 – July 19 – The 2026 FIFA World Cup is scheduled to be held in Canada, Mexico and the United States.
- August 12 – A total solar eclipse is predicted to occur at the Moon's descending node of the orbit in North America and Europe. The total eclipse will pass over the Arctic, Greenland, Iceland, Atlantic Ocean and northern Spain.[1]
