Ann N. Nderitu, CBS, is a Kenyan registrar. She is the Registrar of Political Parties and CEO of the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) in Kenya.[1] In 2018, she took on the role in an acting capacity, and in 2020, she was formally appointed to the position after undergoing a competitive recruitment process and parliamentary vetting by then President of Kenya, Uhuru Kenyatta.[2] She continues to serve in this capacity.
Nderitu previously worked for 10 years at the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) in Kenya.[3] She has co-authored over 20 manuals, curricula, and guides in education, elections management, and political parties' governance, actively used in electoral and governance training.[3]

Nderitu has been the Registrar of Political Parties and CEO of the Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) in Kenya since 2018.[citation needed][4] She secured this role through competitive recruitment, parliamentary vetting,[5] and appointment by the President of Kenya.[6] Her responsibilities as Registrar of Political Parties include the design and implementation of programs aimed at institutionalising political parties, promoting good governance, and ensuring the inclusion of marginalized groups.[7]
Nderitu has faced controversy over her decision related to the Jubilee party's leadership disputes.[8][9]
Nderitu handled the case where the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) party wanted to revoke the party membership of the Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa and her late Mwambweni counterpart Solomon Dori for their dalliance with the then Deputy President William Ruto who was a member of the rival Jubilee Party. The matter flopped because they did not follow due process.[10]
Some have accused her of being influenced by the ruling Coalition in her decisions.[11]
Nderitu emphasizes the importance of adhering to the law, party Constitution, and regulations to ensure her decisions withstand legal scrutiny and align with her responsibilities as the Registrar of political parties.[12]
