Cristhian Jorge Martínez Muñoz[2] (born 18 June 1983), wrongly known as Christian Martínez in sports,[3] is a Chilean footballer who plays for Australian side UNSW FC.[4]

Playing career[edit]

A product of the Universidad de Chile youth system, Martínez also played for Audax Italiano,[4] Deportes La Serena,[5] Barnechea[6] and Deportes Melipilla[7] in his homeland.

In 2021, he emigrated to Australia and signed with UNSW FC in the NSW League Two.[4][8]

Coaching career[edit]

Martínez graduated as a football manager at INAF [es] (National Football Institute) in 2019. At the same time he has performed as a player for UNSW FC, he has served as coach for the youth ranks.[4][9]

Personal life[edit]

He is the older brother of Sebastián Martínez, also a product of the Universidad de Chile youth system.[10]

He is nicknamed Chino (Chinese) due to his resemblance with Asian people.[11][10]
