Akoda is a village in Joida taluk, Uttara Kannada district of Karnataka state in India, approximately 80 km from the city of Karwar. Farming is the main profession and there is a little bit of tourism due to a thick forest and the Kali River flowing nearby.[1]

On Sunday, April 21, 2024, six family members drowned while trying to save a young girl in the Kali River near Akoda.[2][3]
