Philip Mitna is the Deputy Commissioner of Police in the Royal Papua New Guinea Constabulary (RPNGC) and is responsible for the overall Police Operations in Papua New Guinea.

He comes from Ku village, Kamtai District, in the Sinasina Yongomugl electorate in Chimbu Province.

Philip Mitna has a PhD in International, Political, and Strategic Studies from The Australia National University in Canberra, Australia. Dr Mitna’s interests include international relations, foreign policy, and national security. He also has a Master in Public Administration from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy, National University of Singapore.
