The Princess Diaries 3 is an upcoming American romantic comedy film written by Aadrita Mukerji. It is produced by Debra Martin Chase, and serves as the sequel to The Princess Diaries 2: Royal Engagement (2004).

Production[edit]

Walt Disney Pictures announced that it was developing a new Princess Diaries film in November 2022 and that Debra Martin Chase would return to produce with Aadrita Mukerji writing the script. Anne Hathaway had not signed a deal to return in the lead role of Mia Thermopolis, however she publicly stated her support for a third installment, and the hope is that she would return should the potential new film move forward beyond the script stage.[1] In April 2024, Hathaway stated that development was "in a good place."[2]
