This is the title page of Éléments de géométrie algébrique, chapter 1. The copyright for the book is most likely held by the journal Publications Mathématiques de l'IHÉS, published by the Institut des Hautes Études Scientifiques. (Such copyright transfers are standard, but it is possible that Grothendieck and Dieudonné insisted on keeping the copyright.) The copyright for the cover design is certainly held by the journal, as it is in the same format as all title pages to the monographs published in this journal. |
