Police recruits stand listening to instructions before firing their Ak-47. After a two cay course on weapon safety and care the recruits had a chance to fire their weapons. Afghan instructors and coalition mentors stood nearby to offer help to those who need it. The Police recruit course takes five weeks and prepares recruits for the basic functions they will need to be familiar with to do their job. The Mether Lam RTC is scheduled to be one of the first training centers in Afghanistan to transition to be fully operational without coalition assistance.
