1320 & 1322 Locust Street at the corner of S. Juniper Street between S. 13th and S.Broad Streets in the Washington Square West neighborhood of Philadelphia. #1320 is the Cassatt House, built in 1883 and designed by Furness & Evans for J. Gardner Cassatt, a financier and brother of the painter Mary Cassatt. It is currently used as the Fellows' Residence for the Library Company of Philadelphia. (Source: "Cassatt House Fellows Residence" on the LCP website) #1322 is the former Caspar Wister house, also designed by Furness & Evans, circa 1883. Stripped of much of its ornament, it is now an apartment building. |
