English: The Adhyatma Ramayana is a 14th-century Sanskrit text that reinterprets the story of Ramayana in Advaita Vedanta theme. It is embedded in the latter portion of Brahmānda Purana. The text and its variants exists in many Indic scripts including Devanagari, Telugu, Malayali, Kannada and Tamil (see Paula Richman, Ramayana Stories in Modern South India: An Anthology, Indiana University Press, pp. 17-40). The above manuscript leaf is in Odiya script found in the eastern state of India named Odisha. The manuscript was identified in early 19th-century and is now housed in Odisha government museum.
