Description
English: A one-of-a-kind scale model depicting a Soap Box Derby race car piloted in 1938 by All-American World Champion Robert Berger of Omaha, Nebraska. Made of wood, the model is the creation of Derby historian and writer Ronald Reed, who lives near Akron, OH, home of the Soap Box Derby. Mr. Reed has hand carved numerous models like this of actual Derby cars that have raced throughout the history of the Soap Box Derby, beginning in 1934 and up until the present, a collection that comprises over 500 individual examples.
