Summary

Description
English: Two shots by a 30.5 cm MRK L35 in Meppen in 1891. The photographer is in the same position, but as the people in the pictures show, the photos are from different shots of the gun.

The first photo shows the moment when the gun just start to move backward because of the recoil. The exhaust shows lines from the grooves in the barrel.
The second photo shows the moment that the gun has moved backwards half of the way.

In front of the gun there is a 6 cm L/40 quick loading gun. In lithos that have obviously been derived from these photos, this gun is sometimes depicted to the right of the 30.5 cm gun.
