| Description |
Nederlands: Mariaveld. In 1895 kocht een Duitse missionaris een perceel van ruim honderd hectare langs de weg Minderhout-Meerle als locatie om broeders en zusters op te leiden. Enkele jaren later werd een kasteeltje met kapel gezet en was Mariaveld een feit. Door de Eerste Wereldoorlog moesten de Duitse kloosterlingen het Mariaveld verlaten en de meesten kwamen in Wenen terecht. Pas in 1923 kocht kardinaal Mercier een stuk grond met huis op de huidige locatie om de missiecongregatie een thuis te geven. De woning die er toen al stond, is nu het middengedeelte van het gebouw. Aan beide kanten werd het uitgebreid. De kapel dateert uit 1931. Eind 2001 vertrokken de laatste nonnen en werd het gebouw openbaar verkocht aan twee gezinnen. De nieuwe eigenaars hebben het gebouw gerenoveerd en wonen er intussen al enkele jaren.
