Description

Benzaiten is a Shinto Buddhism goddess derived from the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music and arts named Sarasvati. The earliest mentions of her, as goddess of knowledge, arts, and everything that flows, is found in 1st-millennium literature of Japan. Like Sarasvati, she holds a musical instrument in her hands in Japanese iconography.
