Summary[edit]

Non-free media information and use rationale true for Air Miles
Description

UK Air Miles paper vouchers with a general layout and appearance similar to a banknote, having sequential numbering and 'invisible' watermark, issued as a purchase-incentive which consumers could collect incrementally into sufficient quantity to exchange for airline flights with participating carriers

Source

Own work, digital capture by the uploader, from original paper vouchers in uploader's possession since issued in 1988. The format is assumed to have been subjected to copyright, but there is no visual confirmation, either expressed or symbolised

Article

Air Miles

Portion used

All, both sides of a typical voucher are shown

Low resolution?

Yes

Purpose of use

The image serves as a means of visual identification of the brand and logo, to confirm the correct business name as used in the accompanying text on both sides, and to confirm the paper voucher format historically issued with sale of goods or services, in a way that words alone could not convey.

Replaceable?

No. Original vouchers issued were part of a 1988 High-Street retail sale.

Other information

From a pre swipe-card and pre-online era. Credit card transactions used a manual-system by imprinting raised card details on to a sales-slip record. The issuing business is defunct since 2011
