English: Arab Musician, by Henry Ossawa Tanner. Not dated, not signed. Information about who painted came from note on the back of the framed image. The work was handed down in a family, with the understanding that Tanner painted it.

from Kaminski Auctions: "LOT #557: Henry Ossawa Tanner, Arab Musician Henry Ossawa Tanner (Pennsylvania artist, 1959-1937), Arab man with musical instrument, oil on canvas board, name verso, 9" x 11", frame 13 3/4" x 15 3/4". Provenance: Andover, Massachusetts estate."

Tentatively dating this work 1897-1912; Tanner took trips to Jerusalem, and Tunisia (and others; these need to be looked at more thoroughly to determine which trip the image came from.
