For documentary purposes the German Federal Archive often retained the original image captions, which may be erroneous, biased, obsolete or politically extreme.  Klanxbüll, Eröffnung Eisenbahndamm Sylt
Die feierliche Eröffnung des 11 km-langen Sylter Eisenbahndammes von Klanxbüll nach Westerland! Am 1. Juni fand die feierliche Eröffnung des neuen Eisenbahndammes durch den Reichspräsidenten von Hindenburg und den Generaldirektor der Reichsbahn Dr. Dorpmüller statt. Unter großem Jubel der Bevölkerung passierte der erste Zug den Sylter Damm. Die Baukosten des Dammes betrugen ca. 25 Millionen Mark. Der Einweihung wohnten außerdem die Reichsminister Herght, Koch und Dr. Gessler bei. Der erste Zug, festlich mit Girlanden geschmückt, wird freudig begrüßt bei seiner Ankunft in Klanxbüll. |
