Zentralbild Löwe 3167.A.-V. 26.3.1960 28.3.1960 Neue Impfmethoden gegen Kinderlähmung erstmalig im Kreis Zittau Im Kreis Zittau wurde jetzt erstmalig in unserer Republik der Impfschutz gegen Kinderlähmung in Form von Tropfen, die mit Wasser oder Fruchtsaft verabreicht werden, vorgenommen. Amerikanischen Wissenschaftlern war es zuerst gelungen, einen solchen Impfstoff zu entwickeln, der nach demselben Verfahren u.a. auch in der Sowjetunion hergestellt wird. Dieser Impfstoff wird bereits in vielen Ländern der Welt angewandt und führt zu keinerlei Komplikationen. Nach den vorliegenden Erfahrungen vermittelt dieser neuartige Impfstoff einen noch vollkommeneren Impfschutz, als die alte Methode in Form von Einspritzungen. In den kommenden Wochen und Monaten werden in der gesamten DDR diese Schutzimpfungen nach der neuen Methode durchgeführt mit Impfstoff, der in der Sowjetunion hergestellt wurde. Im Kreis Zittau wurden in kürzester Zeit 30.000 Menschen im Alter von zwei Monaten bis 20 Jahren geimpft. English: New immunization methods against polio in Kreis Zittau, East Germany. In Kreis Zittau, our republic's first polio vaccinations in the form of drops, delivered in water or fruit juice, have begun. American scientists first succeeded in developing such a vaccine, which is produced using the same method in the Soviet Union among other countries. This vaccine is being used in many countries in the world and causes no complications. Experience has found that this new vaccination method produces an even more complete immunity that the old injected method. In the coming weeks and months vaccinations in the whole DDR will be carried out using these new methods and vaccine produced in the Soviet Union. In Kreis Zittau 30 000 people aged 2 months to 20 years have just been immunized.
