Zentralbild Kohls 12.12.1963 Schneider Eiskunstlauf: Ralph Borghardt und Uschi Kessler führen nach der Pflicht
Die Qualifikation der Eiskunstläufer aus den beiden deutschen Staaten um die noch vier offenen Plätze in der Gemeinsamen deutschen Olympiamannschaft für Innsbruck begannen am 12.12.1963 in der Berliner Werner-Seelenbinder-Halle mit dem Pflichtlaufen der Männer und Frauen. Nach insgesamt 5 Pflichtfiguren konnte sich der Deutsche Meister Ralph Borghardt mit klarem Vorsprung vor dem Oberstdorfer Sepp Schönmetzler an die Spitze setzen. In der Auseinandersetzung um den noch freien Platz bei den Frauen ist Uschi Kessler (Westdeutschland) nach einer ausgeglichenen Leistung der Pflicht in Führung gegangen.
