English: Burr's Improved Nursing Bottle 1868 Advertisement. "The Medical and Surgical Reporter" This type of baby bottle, with a long and unsanitary hose and nipple, came to be known as "murder bottle" because it could not be cleaned to prevent dangerous bacteria.
