AN/SPN-35 antennas located on aft end of island. This picture was taken prior to the AN/SPN-35A upgrade which added electro-mechanical stabilization and the radome.

Summary

Description View of the island of the U.S. aircraft carrier USS Oriskany (CVA-34) in the second half of the 1960s during a deployment to Vietnam with Attack Carrier Air Wing 16 (CVW-16). The photo was taken from the destroyer USS Collett (DD-730) during an underway replenishment. Note that the large radome of the SPN-35 landing radar at the aft end of the island is missing.
