English: The original caption was, "The Landsberg Atrocity: the charred corpses of Jewish prisoners found lying in the ashes of their prison hut set afire by retreating Nazi prison guards at Landsberg. These prisoners were apparently burned alive when they were locked in their wooden huts and told to stay there or be shot by the guards. Burned fragments of clothing cling to some of the emaciated bodies while others are naked." |
