Summary

Description
English: Christ Church, Blackfriars Road The first church on this site was erected in 1671 by John Marshall. His bequest lives on not only in a charity supporting city churches but also ownership of the church site (unusually for an Anglican parish church, the Rector does not 'own' the church). The second building of 1741 survived (with alterations and extensions) until World War 2. The present, smaller church was built on part of the site in 1959.
