Description
English: Portrait of Colonel William Lamb, Museum of the Confederacy. Note: A prewar Norfolk publisher, Colonel William Lamb assumed command of Fisher in July 1862. He survived the wounds he suffered while defending the fort and later in life became close friends with one of the heroes of the Union assault, Colonel Martin Curtis.
