Summary

Description Computer Shack was incorporated September 21, 1976 by the founders of IMSAI and the first store opened in Hayward, California in December 1976. This early advertisement appeared in the July 1977 issue of BYTE magazine (page 107). Tandy Corp. felt the name was too similar to their Radio Shack brand and the name was changed to ComputerLand in June 1977.
