Summary[edit]

Media data and Non-free use rationale
Description Picture of Lynda Benglis' latex sculpture Contraband (1969) at the Whitney Museum in New York, in 2023. A long, mostly flat, brightly colored latex form lies on the gallery floor, stretching over 30 feet long. The colors and patterns of the sculpture appear tie-dyed and gestural, with oranges, blues, and peaches predominating, and the entire piece appears to have been poured onto the ground as a liquid, drying in a large, irregular amorphous form.
