English: Site of Counter Drain Station. View NE, over crossing with station formerly on right, now perhaps a private house: Bourne left, Spalding right; ex-Midland & Great Northern, (Saxby) - Bourne - Spalding line. Passenger services here ceased (with most of the rest of the M&GN) on 2/3/59, but goods continued until 5/4/65. (See also TF1720 : Eastward over former Railway Bridge over dyke at Counter Drain and the identical present-day scene taken quite coincidentally by Andrew Tatlow in 2010 TF1720 : Site of Counter Drain station 2010). |
