Deutsch: Sassen gehörte bis 1794 im Amt Nürburg zum Kurfürstentum Köln. Im Schildhaupt steht hierfür das schwarze Balkenkreuz. Ortpatron ist der hl. Antonius. Sein Symbol ist das Antoniuskreuz, hier dargestellt mit anhängenden Pilgerglöckchen.
