Object history
Deutsch: Das Wappen stellt das Wahrzeichen Steinbachs dar, den Brunnen auf dem Freien Platz, der sich im Laufe der Zeit äußerlich verändert hat. Während er gegenwärtig nur einen Auslauf aufweist, entsprach er früher der im Wappen dargestellten Ausführung mit zwei Wasserstrahlen. Der Brunnen auf dem Freiem Platz (früher: Pijnacker-Platz, im Volksmund „Dalles“) wird noch heute bei der sogenannten Bachrechtstaufe als Aufnahme von Neubürgern genutzt und aus seinem Wasser die Neubürger „getauft“. Am 28. Februar 1964 wurde der Gemeinde Steinbach im damaligen Obertaunuskreis, Regierungsbezirk Wiesbaden, ein Wappen verliehen.
English: Steinbach's civic coat of arms shows a harnessed spring with two spouts out of both of which is coming water, pouring into a vat. This heraldic charge is based on an actual spring that can be found at Pijnacker Square in the town.
