Object history
Deutsch: Der Name der durch Eingliederung von Busenbach (1972) und Etzenrot (1971) nach Reichenbach entstandenen Gemeinde soll die Bedeutung von Fremdenverkehr und Kurbetrieb erkennen lassen. Die Gemeinde führte zunächst das 1902 angenommene Wappen Reichenbachs weiter: In Blau ein silberner Balken. Dabei handelt es sich um das Wappen der Herren von Schmalenstein, die die Ortsherrschaft bis 1371 ausübten. Im neuen Wappen, das zusammen mit der Flagge am 12. Mai 1982 vom Landratsamt Karlsruhe verliehen wurde, ist der Balken in einen Wellenschrägbalken verwandelt, um die Lage der Gemeinde auf den Höhen des Nordschwarzwaldes östlich des Albtals und das Thermalbad zu symbolisieren. Pflugschar und Mond sind die alten Ortszeichen und Wappenbilder von Busenbach und Etzenrot.
