Description
English: Diagram showing data forwarding in a microprocessor. In this case, the instructions are something like the following:
LDB adr   -> r10
AND r10,3 -> r11
Thus, the data can be forwarded from the output of the first instructions' MEM stage to the input of the next instruction's EX stage (green line). If the second instruction is stalled before EX by one cycle, this is forward in time.
