English: Davidson's Monument in Kershope Forest This monument is an engraved stone pillar erected in 1852 in memory of a gamekeeper who was murdered by poachers at this spot in 1849.

The inscription reads as follows:

IN MEMORY OF THOMAS DAVIDSON GAME WATCHER WHO WAS MURDERED ON THIS SPOT ON THE 8TH DAY OF NOVEMBER 1849 GENESIS IV.10. AND THE LORD SAID UNTO CAIN WHAT HAST THOU DONE THE VOICE OF THY BROTHERS BLOOD CRIETH UNTO ME FROM THE GROUND ROMANS XII.19. IT IS WRITTEN VENGENCE IS MINE I WILL REPAY SAITH THE LORD
