Description

Het Korps Mariniers is opgericht op 10 december 1665. Ter gelegenheid van het 350 jarig bestaan van het Korps Mariniers nam Z.M. koning Willem-Alexander op zaterdag 12 december 2015 op de Coolsingel te Rotterdam een defilé af. Het Korps Mariniers is het oudste krijgsmacht onderdeel van Nederland.

  • De Canadian Military Pattern truck was een klasse van militaire voertuigen die tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog zijn geproduceerd in Canada. In de oorlog zijn bijna 400.000 exemplaren van deze klasse van de lopende band gerold. De voertuigen werden met name in de fabrieken van Amerikaanse autofabrikanten in Canada geproduceerd, veelal naar Brits ontwerp. De voertuigen zijn door het Britse en Britse Gemenebest strijdmachten gebruikt op bijna alle strijdtonelen. * Tekst: Wikipedia.

Tot de invoering van het voor die tijd modernere materieel van DAF, hebben een kleine 338 voertuigen van dit ontwerp nog dienst gedaan in het Nederlandse leger.
