Back to Examples Louis H. Pilié and Jacques Nicolas Bussière de Pouilly February 8, 1866

Property to be sold at auction was indicated in yellow on the site survey, while adjacent property that was not for sale was shown in pink and left blank. In creating the elevations, the surveyors sometimes indicated surrounding buildings and landscape features by drawing them in ghostly shapes. In this plan, adjacent buildings are blocked out in grays and cream colors, while Esplanade Avenue was delineated with shadowy trees. (Peace Street is now Kerlerec.)
