Summary

Description
English: Scanning electron microscope image of S. r. austrofloridense (Everglades bully). The cells of the leaf surface (epidermis) have visible grooves (think of a turtle shell). The darker, “mouth-like” openings are stomata, which enable plants to “breathe.”
