Summary

Description A U.S. Marine Corps Vought F4U-1D Corsair of Marine Fighter Squadron VMF-511 attached to Marine Carrier Air Group 1 (MCVG-1) is on the deck of the U.S. Navy escort carrier USS Block Island (CVE-106) preparing to launch. MCVG-1 was the first all-Marine carrier air group in the Second World War.
