Summary

Description
English: The Persian center, although having pushed the Greek center back, break off their attack when they realize the Greek wings are about to surround them, and join the general retreat to the safety of the ships. Many Persians, pursued all the way by the Greeks, are trapped against the Great Marsh. This may be where many of the Persians are slain, and so the Trophy of Marathon marks this spot.
