Français : L'église Saint-Aubin de l'ancienne commune Saint-Aubin-sur-Auquainville (Calvados, Normandie, France). Église paroissiale, elle est désaffectée lors du rattachement à la commune d'Auquainville, en 1831, et alors utilisée comme chapelle funéraire par la famille de Custine. Le grand remplage bouché du choeur à chevet plat atteste une campagne de construction du bas Moyen-Age. Il s'agit d'un édifice à nef unique et clocher assis sur le pignon occidental. Les baies ont sans doute été reprises au 18e siècle. A l'intérieur, l'édifice a conservé la totalité de son agencement ancien. L'église en totalité est classé au titre des Monuments Historiques.
English: The church of Saint-Aubin of the former municipality (commune) of Saint-Aubin-sur-Auquainville (Calvados, Normandy, France). The church was decommissioned when Saint-Aubin-sur-Auquainville was incorporated into the commune of Auquainville in 1831 and was then used as a burial chapel by the Custine family. The choir with a flat apse indicates the building is from the late Middle Ages. It has a single nave and tower sitting on the western gable. The windows and door have without doubt been re-engineered in the 18th century. Inside, the building has retained all of its former layout. The entire church is listed as a Historic Monument.
Nederlands: De kerk van Saint-Aubin van de voormalige gemeente Saint-Aubin-sur-Auquainville (Calvados, Normandië, Frankrijk). Deze parochiekerk werd buiten gebruik gesteld toen Saint-Aubin-sur-Auquainville in 1831 opging in de gemeente Auquainville; ze werd vervolgens gebruikt als een grafkapel van de familie Custine. Het grote koor met een platte apsis wijst op een gebouw uit de late Middeleeuwen. Het heeft een enkel schip en een toren op de westelijke gevel. De deur- en raamopeningen zijn vrijwel zeker in de 18e eeuw geheel gewijzigd. Binnenin heeft het gebouw zijn vroegere indeling geheel behouden. De hele kapel is geklasseerd als een historisch monument. |
