Deutsch: Ostansicht der Burg in der burgenländischen Bezirkshauptstadt Güssing.
Die Burg wurde auf einem weithin sichtbar steilen Kegel vulkanischen Ursprungs Mitte des 12. Jahrhunderts errichtet und ist damit die älteste Burg Burgenlands. Im 16. und 17. Jahrhundert erfolgte der Ausbau zu einer Festung. Wegen der „Dachsteuer“ gab man sie im 18. Jahrhundert dem Verfall preis. Seit 1957 wird eine Bestandssicherung betrieben und 1969 wurde das neue Burgmuseum eröffnet. English: Ost view of Güssing Castle, Austria. |
