Summary

Description The "Glen Affric tartan", an artefact dating to c. 1500–1600 AD, is Scotland's oldest known surviving specimen of true tartan cloth. It was discovered in a peat bog in the early 1980s. On loan from the Scottish Tartans Authority for display at V&A Dundee museum as part of the Tartan exhibition opening 1 April 2023.
