Description The opening of a new school building in Shaw Lane, Barnsley, for Holgate Grammar School. It was opened by the Cosmo Gordon Lang (Bishop of York in centre with stick), attended by Joseph Hobson Cotterill (Mayor of Barnsley, wearing chain), E. Talbot (Higher Education Committee), W.E. Raley (Barnsley Education Committee), Archdeacons Donne and Norris, Canon Hervey, Rev. C.S. Butler (headmaster), Dr H.H. Horne, E.G. Lancaster, R. Bury, and G.B. Walker.
