CHRISTIANSEN, Joseph, presidentof the Scandinavian Mission from Vol. IV, No. 24 June 13. 1936 370 LATTER-DAY SAINT 1892 to 1893, was born Aug, 17, 1854,in Salt Lake City, Utah, the son ofNiels C. and Catherine Christiansen.He was baptized when eight yearsold, ordained an Elder in January,1876, was married to Hannah M. Pe-tersen, Jan. 31, 1876, and moved toMayfield, Utah, being one of the pio-neer settlers of that place. In 1888he was ordained a High Priest andacted as second counselor to BishopOle C. Olsen. In 1891-1893 he filleda mission to Scandinavia, presidingfifteen months over the Aarhus Con-ference, Denmark, and for nearly ayear was president of the Scandinav-ian Mission.
