Summary

Description
English: Jack Kammerer was a comedic acrobat and Edna Howland was a classically trained pianist. In 1910, they began appearing together in Rhode Island vaudeville theatres as “Kammerer & Howland -- Classical Comedy Singing and Talking Act." They toured the United States for a decade, on the Loew's vaudeville circuit and the Burlesque wheels, before calling it quits in 1920. Jack Kammerer adopted the stage name Jack Cameron. In the 1920s, he was cast in major theatrical productions and in the motion picture, Applause (1929). Later he performed in minor film roles, as well as on local radio and television programs. This photograph, taken by Unity Studio on the corner of 46th and Broadway, was likely created in 1914 to promote the act's first Loew's tour. The photo is signed, "From Kammerer & Howland, Who are going to the top."
