Summary

Description
English: The 2021 KNP Complex Fire was a large wildfire that burned primarily in Sequoia National Park and the Sequoia National Forest in Tulare County, California. After lightning ignited two fires in the southern Sierra Nevada on September 9, the fires merged, and the combined blaze burned 88,307 acres (35,737 hectares) over 42 days. Rain and snow from several atmospheric rivers curbed the fire's growth in late October, and it was declared contained in mid-December, at a cost of $170 million.
