Summary[edit]

Painting depicting an encounter between an English warship and seven Algerine corsairs. It probably depicts the engagement in 1681 between the Algerines and the Kingfisher captained by Morgan Kempthorne. Found here. Artist unknown, possibly a Cornelius van de Velde copy of a Willem van de Velde the Younger original.
