Summary

Description
English: Koshisaurus is a basal hadrosauroid from the Kitadani Formation in Japan. It is named for the old Japanese regional name, "Koshi," referring to the Fukui prefecture where the fossil specimens were discovered. The discovery of the genus suggests that hadrosauroids had higher diversity along the eastern margin of Asia in the Early Cretaceous. As a hadrosauroid, Koshisaurus was more derived than iguanodontidae, but more basal than true hadrosaurs.
