Español: La obra representa el momento en que Leonor de Guzmán († 1351), amante y favorita de Alfonso XI de Castilla y apresada poco después de la muerte de dicho monarca por su hijo y sucesor, Pedro I de Castilla, se despidió de su hijo Fadrique Alfonso de Castilla, que ya era maestre de la Orden de Santiago, en presencia de la reina María de Portugal, viuda de Alfonso XI y madre del nuevo monarca castellano. Y fue la reina María de Portugal quien ordenó en 1351 que ejecutaran a Leonor de Guzmán en Talavera de la Reina.
