English: Studio portrait of 7117 Private (Pte) Leslie Joseph James, 23rd Reinforcements, 14th Battalion, of Geelong, Vic, with his wife Alice and two children, Leslie Thomas and Iris May. Pte James enlisted on 4 July 1916 and embarked from Melbourne aboard HMAT Medic on 16 December 1916. Pte James was killed in action near Passchendaele on 22 October 1917.
