English: Maer Hall. Maer Hall was owned by the Josiah Wedgewood II from 1807 until his death in 1843. Charles Darwin author of 'The Origin of Species' married his cousin Emma Wedgewood in the nearby St Peter's church in 1839 and visited and stayed in the house.335808
