Her Excellency Makiko Tanaka (田中眞紀子), Minister of Foreign Affairs, Japan, shakes hands with US Navy (USN) Chief Boatswains Mate (BMC), Diver (DV) Robert Lastimosa, from Mobile Diving and Salvage Unit One (MDSU-1) after he presents her with a Navy divers coin. Mrs. Tanaka came to lend her support and received an update on the USN led effort during recovery operations for the Japanese fishing vessel Ehime Maru.
